Long I sound with -ie spelling

Today, we reviewed the Long I sound and song. We also copied some words with the -ie spelling in our Phonics Dictionary. 

Long I with -y and -ie Spellings

This week, we have started to review the Long I sound with the -y and -ie spellings like in fly, cry and spy as well as flies, cries and spies. Let´s review!

Long /e/ Sound: -e, -ey, e_e Spellings and Dictionary Copy

Today, we are reviewing and learning about some spellings of the Long /e/ Sound:

-e like in he, me and hero

-e_e like in here, these and compete

-ey like in monkey, donkey and keys

We also copied the -ey words in our Phonics Dictionary. 

Long and Short e with -e, -ee and -ea

Today, we are reviewing some short and long sounds of the letter e. Then, we will do the worksheet. 

Long e: ee/ea wordsort

Today, we reviewed two spellings of the Long e sound:

-ee like in see, week and tree

-ea like in read, dream and seat

New Book and the different sound of the letter Yy

We are continuing to read book 15, My Family. 

Did you know the letter y is a consonant and a vowel? 

When it is at the beginning of a word, it is a consonant like in yogurt, yo-yo and yes. 

When it is at the end of a word on its own, it is a vowel and make two sounds:

-Long E like in happy, mommy and rainy

-Long I like in my, fly and cry
