Happy Halloween!

Today, we have celebrated Halloween at school. We read the book On a Windy Night by Nancy Raines Day. After recess, we danced the Pumpkin Man Freeze with the fifth graders,  we played games and we trick-or-treated. We had a great time!

This week, we are working with the /ng/ sound like in ring, strong and looking. We have also practiced the structure "I am + verb+ing":

I am talking. I am playing. I am looking. I am eating. I am sleeping. I am reading. I am going to school.

Today, we learned that the letters -th can make two different sounds.

Sometime th makes the same sound as in think, thank you and bathroom. But sometimes the th can make a sound similar to the /z/ like in the, this, mother and weather.

This week, we learned that the letters th can make two different sounds. Sometimes, they make the same sound as in bathroom, think and mouth. However, they can also make the same sound as in father, weather and there.
