The three spellings of the /Ff/ sound
This week, we learned that the /f/ sound has three spellings:
-f like in fish, Friday and frog
-ph like in elephant, telephone and saxophone
-gh like in laugh, enough and cough

Yesterday, we learned about the -er sound like in sister, farmer and computer. Today, we have learned that we can also write this sound with -ir like in bird, girl and birthday, and with the -ur like in nurse, Thursday and hamburger. Let´s review!

R-contrelled Vowels: -er
Today, we have learned that the letters -er make the sound that we hear in mother, December and marker. We copied a long list of words that we know with this sound in our Phonics Dictionary.
