Today, we are reviewing and learning about some spellings of the Long /e/ Sound:
-e like in he, me and hero
-e_e like in here, these and compete
-ey like in monkey, donkey and keys
We also copied the -ey words in our Phonics Dictionary.

My Family and the different sounds of the letter Yy
We are continuing to read book 15, My Family.
Did you know the letter y is a consonant and a vowel?
When it is at the beginning of a word, it is a consonant like in yogurt, yo-yo and yes.
When it is at the end of a word on its own, it is a vowel and make two sounds:
-Long E like in happy, mommy and rainy
-Long I like in my, fly and cry
