The three spellings of the /z/ sound

Today, we reviewed three spellings for the /z/ sound:

- z like in zoo, puzzle and zero

- th like in weather, the and mother

- s like in toes, nose and goes

Today, we reviewed that the letters -th can make two different sounds.

Sometime th makes the same sound as in think, thank you and bathroom. But sometimes the th can make a sound similar to the /z/ like in the, this, mother and weather.

This week, we are learning that the letters th can make two different sounds. Sometimes, they make the same sound as in bathroom, think and mouth. However, they can also make the same sound as in father, weather and there.
